I had a decent stay at this traditional ryokan, which is conveniently located right in front of the Arashiyama station. The facilities included big public baths and several private baths, which were nice touches. However, the service left much to be desired, as there were moments of rudeness from the staff. The dining experience was also not on par with other ryokans I've visited, despite the emphasis on a lavish experience and free-flowing drinks.

Rooms
7.0
The room was okay, a bit old and worn, but comfortable enough for our stay.
Service
5.0
While some staff were friendly, many others were unhelpful and impatient when we had questions.
Location
10.0
Being opposite the Hankyu Arashiyama Station was great for accessing local attractions like the monkey park and bamboo forest.
Dining
5.0
The kaiseiki dinner was visually appealing but the overall quality did not meet expectations, particularly because it was served in a crowded restaurant instead of the room.
Facilities
8.0
The available public and private baths were a highlight, but the overall facility experience was somewhat marred by service issues.

My stay at this ryokan was a mixed bag. While the location is fantastic right in front of Arashiyama station and the public and private baths were great, I had some serious issues with the service. The staff were often rude and unhelpful, which really spoiled my experience. The dining situation was also disappointing compared to other ryokans I've visited. Overall, I have to say this place has potential, but I wouldn't recommend it unless improvements are made.

The room was decent but showed some wear and tear. The view of the mountains and cherry blossoms was lovely.

Unbeatable location, just steps away from Arashiyama station, making it very easy to explore the area.
Dining

The dining experience was lackluster, particularly the dinner which felt rushed and not well organized.

I had a rather disappointing experience at this ryokan. While the location is fantastic, just a minute from Arashiyama station, the service left much to be desired. The facilities, including the baths, have potential, but the staff's rudeness overshadowed the positives. Additionally, the meals, although beautifully presented, did not meet my expectations in quality, particularly the breakfast.

Rooms
7.0
The twin room I stayed in was quite small, but it had a lovely view of the mountains and river, and the Japanese-style sitting area with a huge TV was a nice touch.
Service
5.0
Unfortunately, the service was lacking as the staff was often impatient and unhelpful, which made for a frustrating experience.
Location
10.0
The location is excellent, just right across from Arashiyama station, making access to sightseeing very convenient.
Dining
5.0
The meals were beautifully served, but the quality didn't quite match my expectations. Breakfast was a little crowded and didn't impress much.
Facilities
6.0
The ryokan has both public and private baths, but the private ones didn't have the mineral quality I anticipated. They also offered free ramen at night, which was a nice but missed opportunity for me due to the meal servings.

I had a mixed experience at Kadensho. The location is fantastic, right across from the Arashiyama station and close to major attractions. The rooms were spacious and comfortable, especially our top-grade room with a private onsen bath. However, the service felt a bit impersonal and the dining options left something to be desired. Overall, it's a decent choice, but not quite worth the price compared to other ryokans I've experienced.

Rooms
8.0
The top-grade room was spacious and comfortable, featuring an external private onsen bath with a beautiful view.
Service
5.0
While the staff was pleasant upon arrival, they lacked the genuine warmth and helpfulness expected at a ryokan.
Location
10.0
Perfectly located right opposite Arashiyama station, making it very convenient to access major attractions like the monkey park.
Dining
6.0
Dinner was served in the restaurant and while visually appealing, it didn't meet our expectations; breakfast was quite standard.
Facilities
6.0
The onsen facilities included several communal and private baths, but the unpleasant chlorine smell in some made them less enjoyable.

I had mixed feelings about my stay at this hotel. The location is fantastic as it’s right in front of Arashiyama station, making it convenient for exploring. While I appreciated the amenities like the private baths and the free ice lollipops, the service left much to be desired, and the food did not meet my expectations for a ryokan experience. Overall, it wasn't the worst stay, but there’s definitely room for improvement.

Rooms
7.0
The rooms were a bit dated and worn but still comfortable enough for our stay.
Service

The service was lackluster; I found the staff unhelpful and at times, rude, which was quite disappointing.
Location

The location is ideal, right next to Arashiyama station, making it easy to access local attractions.
Dining

Dining was disappointing; both breakfast and dinner quality were underwhelming compared to other ryokans I've visited.
